When it comes to boots, the Duchess’ outdoor side comes to light. A die-hard Penelope Chilvers fan, nothing says “nature lover” like a tall brown leather boot that lights up like a chic skylight (Kate even bought a pair for Princess Charlotte), but luckily they only come out for the most rustic royal engagements. Recent get-togethers have seen Kate try her hand at the over-the-knee boot trend via Ralph Lauren and Saint Laurent suede styles that look chic tucked under her usual midi dresses. Soft-heeled boots work much better for the sleek aesthetic she’s slowly carved out, even if those beloved Chilvers score points for the revivals.
Kate’s sneaker collection also shows her understanding of what works for her and, most importantly, what will stand the test of time. While a pair of Nike VaporMax runners once showed the mother-of-three a more “street” side than we’ve ever seen before, and her M&S Ribbon sneakers did a good deed for the high street, Kate then turned back to her Supergas and Vejas vault. These affordable white sneakers reinforce the Duchess’ sustainability credentials and ring anew with Kate who is confident in the message of every outfit she wears.
