After their S-Works Vent road shoes and Prevail Vent II helmet, the new all-terrain-ready Vent EVO Gravel race shoes take it to the dirt.
Built on the same lightweight, stiff, and ventilated design philosophy, the Vent EVO Gravel shoes are built for logging long, fast miles in comfort. Here’s how they do it…
Designed to offer the same stiffness and performance as their S-Works Recon XC mountain bike shoe, the new Vent EVO Gravel adds more ventilation and mesh panels. The idea is to keep your feet cool and dry (assuming the conditions are dry, of course), which helps you perform better.
They achieved this by making just about every part of the shoe upper that could be flexible and breathable. A combination of Dyneema and mesh/TPU panels built around a new last last claims to offer a snug fit for a wide range of foot shapes while holding those feet securely. and comfortably.
The sole gets its Body Geometry treatment, with longitudinal arch support and a +1.5mm Varus Wedge in the forefoot to prevent sloppy pronation when your feet, ankles and legs tire with the time. Their metatarsal button also helps spread the foot a little to prevent cramping.
They get the same custom machined alloy dials controlling the BOA S3-Snap Fit closures, along with a small forefoot Velcro closure. A plastic heel cup stabilizes the rearfoot, with a matching front bumper to protect both ends of the shoes from scrapes.
Molded tread mounts and rubber blocks provide plenty of traction off the bike, with removable spikes included.
The S-Works Vent EVO Gravel comes in black and red/black and will retail for $450 (€430/AUD $600), and will come in all the usual sizes. We have a set for testing, stay tuned for a full review.
